The Opportunity

At OpenText, we put people first. As a Sr. Health & Safety Specialist, based in our Philippines office, you will play a key role in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce across the APJ region. You will also contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of global Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs. This role requires a seasoned professional who can independently lead projects, collaborate across functions, and drive compliance with both local and international standards.

You Are Great At

Safety Leadership

• Act as the main contact for OHS in the APJ region.
• Lead OHS program rollout in line with global and local standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture through coaching and engagement.
• Work with landlords, regulators, and internal teams to ensure compliance.
  
  

Training & Development

• Manage OHS training from planning to delivery and tracking.
• Run training sessions, including behavior-based safety programs.
• Lead safety committee meetings and contractor onboarding.
  
  

Reporting & Analytics

• Track and report OHS metrics, incidents, and compliance data.
• Provide insights and trends to support decision-making.
  
  

Site & Program Support

• Provide on-site safety guidance for high-risk tasks.
• Conduct hazard assessments and apply risk controls.
• Support emergency planning and site-specific safety programs.
  
  

Compliance

• Keep accurate records in line with regulations.
• Support audits by DOLE and other agencies.
• Oversee contractor safety and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Help with environmental compliance and global initiatives.
  
  

What It Takes

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of OHS experience, ideally in a corporate or BPO setting.
  
  

Certifications

• Required: Must qualify as DOLE Safety Officer 3 or 4, including BOSH training and experience per DOLE Dept. Order 198-18.
• Preferred: Certifications like NEBOSH, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001/14001, or ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor.
  
  

Skills & Competencies

• Solid understanding of local and global OHS standards.
• Strong leadership and project management abilities.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office and digital tools for reporting/training.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Comfortable working in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
  
  

Work Setup

• Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
