BUREAU VERITAS IN THE PHILIPPINES

Bureau Veritas Philippines was established in 1994 with a lean team of seven people mostly surveyors for the Marine & Offshore business unit. In the late 90s, the Certification Team was established together with other Business Units such as the Government Services and International Trade Group. Inspectorate Philippines became part of the BV Group in the Philippines in 2010 and formed BV’s Commodities Services. In 2016, the Buildings & Infrastructure services business unit was introduced in the Philippines, and within five years, the B&I revenue stream has become one of the top revenue earners of BV Philippines and is now considered a partner of choice of large real estate and property developers in the country. Today, Bureau Veritas Philippines has over 450 employees and growing.

Position Overview:

The Sustainability Report Writer will be responsible for crafting comprehensive and engaging sustainability reports that reflect our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and adherence to various sustainability frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate writing, experience with CSR activities, and familiarity with sustainability standards such as IFRS S1 and S2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report Writing: Develop clear, concise, and compelling sustainability reports that communicate our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Content Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, insights, and stories that showcase our sustainability efforts, CSR programs, and volunteer activities.
  • Framework Familiarity: Ensure reports align with sustainability frameworks, specifically International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S1 and S2, while meeting relevant regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
  • Research and Analysis: Research industry trends, best practices, and emerging sustainability issues to inform report content and enhance overall quality.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with various departments to collect necessary information, statistics, and testimonials that highlight our achievements and impact on the community.
  • Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit content for clarity, consistency, and accuracy, ensuring adherence to corporate writing standards and branding guidelines.
  • Graphic Design Collaboration (Optional): Collaborate with graphic designers to incorporate visuals and infographics that enhance the report's effectiveness and appeal.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in corporate writing, with a portfolio demonstrating strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and volunteer activities, showcasing a passion for community engagement and sustainability.
  • Familiarity with various sustainability frameworks, specifically International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S1 and S2.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into accessible language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):

  • Graphic design skills or experience using design software to create visuals that complement written content.
