What we’re looking for
Must have at least 4 - 5 years' experience working on Cisco Meraki, Fortinet and other related networking gears. (REQUIRED)
Must have experience working on Switches, Routers, Wireless Access points and other related networking gears. (REQUIRED)
Strong experience with Active Directory and Window Servers
- CCNA certificate is a plus
- Experience using Connect wise is a plus
- Experience working in an MSP environment is a plus
- Significant experience in networks and security appliances, ideally in an enterprise environment
- Proven experience with Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF & VRRP) and SD-WAN technologies
- Strong experience in Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Exchange, Office 365 and virtualization technologies.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, Cloud Technologies, and IT security
- Experience with multi-server infrastructure including virtualization and application clusters
- Significant experience in designing, implementing and troubleshooting leading edge technology solutions
- Proven experience delivering multiple projects

What to Expect in the Role
The primary role of the Senior Engineer is to provide technical support to clients including remedial maintenance support on infrastructure, LAN and WAN networks and implementation of new projects, while acting as an escalation point in areas of expertise.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing remote support for client environments
- Testing, diagnosing, repairing, configuring and upgrading hardware and associated IT equipment on client environments
- Troubleshooting, analyzing, and identifying hardware and network system faults, evaluate alternative solutions, determine and implement the solution process
- Working with clients to understand technical requirements across the business
- Recommending and assisting with the selection of relevant technologies and products for projects
- Developing high level and low-level design documentation
- Monitoring and reviewing daily logs and creating incident tasks where action is required
- Liaising with vendors if required
- Ensuring equipment configuration, error logs and code levels are within set specifications
- Acting as an escalation point and aiding more junior members of the team
- Acting as a technology specialist in areas of expertise
- Performing analysis and testing and making recommendations in a capacity of a technical expert
- Preparation of projects and changes including assumptions, scope of works, functional specifications, implementation planning and deliverables
- Performing detailed requirements capture and analysis activity for infrastructure solutions utilising and integrating the existing product suites
- Assisting in solution architecture/design where required
- Providing technical pre-sales support to the sales team including content for quotes, proposals and tender responses
- Developing and maintaining technical procedure and system documentation for the supported architectures
- Proactively improving and automating technical procedures
- Maintaining and developing broad, high level technical knowledge and skills across technologies deployed by New Era, through self-study and internal and external training courses
- Documenting daily activity, through mandated time sheeting system, in an accurate and timely manner
- Other related duties as required
Work Schedule
- Will follow Australia Eastern Standard Time
- Weekends off
- Hybrid set up (2 days' work onsite, 3 days remote set up)
