Position Responsibilities

Primary Job Function:

• The Senior Finance Generalist is responsible for the analysis and preparation of journal entries for accruals, royalties, and deferred commission for global commissions as well as bank account reconciliation and various GL accounting including Controllership .
  
  
  

Specific Responsibilities:

• Accounting for Royalties
• Perform periodic accounting for all royalty activity, including preparing various journal entries, account reviews and reconciliations, and associated analyses
• Query various Deltek systems to generate detailed, accurate, and professional-looking partner reports in MS Excel;
• Generate monthly, quarterly, or annual e-mails to contacts at partner firms in order to share reporting;
• Use various online tools to renew software licenses and related maintenance;
• Work with software partners to reconcile internal reports to partner records;
• Examine partner invoices to ensure that they accurately reflect internal reporting provided to partners;
• Shepherd reporting and related invoices through the internal approval process, being able to answer questions from management and other internal stakeholders;
• Accurately account for reporting and invoicing activity in Deltek’s general ledger system through the creation of monthly journal entries to Expense, Accrued Expense, and Prepaid Expense;
• Maintain accurate and detailed reconciliations of Prepaid Expenses and Accrued Expenses that support Deltek’s general ledger balance, and also reflect future amortization schedules;
• Assist Financial Planning and Analysis team with monthly reviews, as well as forecasts and budgets related to partner-related expense;
• Read, understand, document, and operationalize new contracts or contract amendments related to software agreements
• Other Accounting Activities
• Prepare various journal entries in one or more of the following areas, as assigned by the General Ledger Accounting Lead:
• Cash
• Prepaid
• Goodwill/intangibles
• Deposits
• Other assets
• Other liabilities
• Departmental accruals
• Expense (T&E) accrual
• Allocations
• Non-Costpoint trial balance uploads
• Supplemental reporting to parent
• Perform reviews and reconciliation of subledger and GL accounts above in accordance with company policy as assigned
• Examine current processes and accounting practices and suggest improvements as needed;
• Other tasks as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

Other Key Requirements of the Successful Candidate

• BA or BS in Accounting required
• 6 years or more of accounting experience
• Preferably Certified Public Accountant
• Mix of Corporate and Public Accounting experience a plus
• Experience in software industry a plus
• Willingness to work on a mid-shift
• Intermediate skills with MS Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams),, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint
• Experience with reading, interpreting, and operationalizing financial portions of contracts
• Experience with various mid-range General Ledger/ERP systems; Deltek Costpoint, GEP, Salesforce, a plus
• Experience with any Account reconciliation tool or experience using Blackline is a plus.
