Looking for candidates from the Philippines
Position: Data and Finance Analyst
Work hours: 9:00AM - 6:00PM UK Time
Compensation range: US$1,300 - US$1,500/month
At RunRemote our mission is to help connect the top-rated remote talent with the world's best job opportunities. Our key markets and clients are located in the US, AUS, UK & Canada just to name a few. All of our roles are full-time and 100% remote, cutting out the daily commute, and providing top-rated talent with the best job opportunities all from the comfort of their home.
About Our Client
Our client is a UK-based sustainability consultancy that empowers businesses to reduce their carbon footprint through science-led strategies and actionable data. They combine in-depth carbon analysis with practical solutions to help organisations decarbonise operations and drive long-term environmental impact.
Their mission is to make sustainability accessible, transparent and business-aligned, ensuring companies not only meet regulatory and ethical expectations, but also gain a competitive edge in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
About The Role
The team is seeking an Excel-savvy Data and Finance Analyst to assist carbon consultants by transforming raw, unstructured utility and logistics data into clean, standardised formats for carbon emissions reporting.
This role does not involve financial modelling or advanced Excel automations. Instead, it focuses heavily on data collection, review, and preparation; comprising approximately 70–80% of the responsibilities. The analyst will primarily work in Excel, standardising diverse client files and identifying inconsistencies before the data is used in carbon calculation models.
Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for data anomalies, and experience working with large, inconsistent spreadsheets.

Responsibilities
- Review and clean raw client data across utility, logistics, financial, and operational sources, including electricity usage, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, annual expense reports and etc.
- Consolidate data from various formats into a structured Excel report used in internal carbon modelling tools.
- Reformat messy spreadsheets, copy-paste from scanned or PDF documents, and ensure data alignment by scope, location, date, and emission source.
- Spot and flag anomalies and inconsistencies such as mismatched dates, sudden usage spikes, duplicated entries, or incorrect units.
- Prepare bullet-style discrepancy reports or summaries to help consultants follow up with clients.
- Use advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, filters, conditional formatting, etc.) to improve data structure, readability, and hygiene.
- Support consultants by clarifying data issues and collaborating via Teams, Slack, and other internal tools.
- Occasionally assist in assigning emission factors (where applicable) or flagging missing information requiring client input.
- Help reduce turnaround times for data preparation and contribute to high-quality reporting outcomes for external clients.
- At least 3 years of experience working in data analysis, auditing, or financial analysis, ideally within a consulting environment.
- Proficient in Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, data cleaning, filtering, sorting, and copy-paste efficiency.
- Strong analytical and attention to detail skills - able to detect unusual patterns (e.g., tripled electricity usage), understand number relationships, and flag inconsistencies.
- Comfortable working with inconsistent file formats (Excel, PDF, scanned files) and turning them into structured data sets.
- Strong organisational skills; able to manage multiple projects and datasets simultaneously without losing attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and Slack for internal communication.
- Excellent written communication skills in proper English, with the ability to explain data-related issues clearly to internal teams.
- Familiarity with expense data, purchase ledgers, utility formats or similar documents is a plus.
- Comfortable working independently and in a remote team environment.
- $50 Internet Allowance
- $50 HMO allowance
- 20 days Paid Time Off
