Procurement Engineer (Project Management)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cost Management:

• Assist in executing the RFQ BOM cost for the business unit.
• Identify creative ways to reduce BOM cost by streamlining processes and systems
• Provide feedback to business unit on component cost and cost trends.

Supply Chain Management:

• Communicate clearly and regularly the customer’s needs to Commodity Management, Operations Materials Management and site Buyers to ensure that IMI provides supply chain solutions that foster success.
• Manage the periodic materials quotation cycle for Business Unit/Customers. Identify and facilitate the qualification of new, alternate and/or preferred suppliers.
• Working in concert with Commodity Management Team, negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and advanced supply chain optimization programs such as supplier-owned inventory, Just-in-Time delivery schedules, reduced lead times and cancellation terms, return privileges, and EDI/SIS demand communication with strategic suppliers.
• Contract Alignment and Review (Customer vs. Supplier)
• Through early design involvement and qualification of alternate suppliers on existing products, promote the use of Strategic Suppliers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• With at least 5 years of related work experience gained from an automotive, electronics or semiconductor company.
• Senior level, with a high level of experience in buying, planning and sourcing of parts.
• Background in Cost Management, sourcing, supply chain and DMC analysis
• Knowledgeable in SAP
