BUREAU VERITAS IN THE PHILIPPINES
Bureau Veritas Philippines was established in 1994 with a lean team of seven people, mostly surveyors for the Marine & Offshore business unit. In the late 90s, the Certification Team was established together with other Business Units such as the Government Services and International Trade Group. Inspectorate Philippines became part of the BV Group in the Philippines in 2010 and formed BV’s Commodities Services. In 2016, the Buildings & Infrastructure services business unit was introduced in the Philippines, and within five years, the B&I revenue stream has become one of the top revenue earners of BV Philippines and is now considered a partner of choice of large real estate and property developers in the country. Today, Bureau Veritas Philippines has over 450 employees and is growing.

Position Overview:
As an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Auditor, you will leverage your expertise as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to conduct thorough financial audits and sustainability assessments. You will play a crucial role in verifying our sustainability reports, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and contributing to our mission of promoting responsible business practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Auditing: Conduct comprehensive financial audits by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Sustainability Assurance: Perform sustainability assurance engagements, evaluating the credibility and reliability of sustainability reports and data.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to Republic Act No. 11898 (EPR Act) and its implications for corporate responsibility and sustainability practices.
- SEC Reporting Compliance: Prepare, review, and assess sustainability reports to ensure compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements for sustainability reporting.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including finance, operations, and sustainability teams, to integrate ESG metrics into financial and operational processes.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks related to ESG compliance and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate audit findings and sustainability performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of transparency.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements for internal controls and processes related to financial and sustainability reporting.
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with accreditation from the Board of Accountancy.
- Proven experience in financial auditing, demonstrating a solid understanding of GAAP and auditing standards.
- Background in sustainability assurance, with experience in sustainability reporting frameworks and methodologies.
- Knowledge of Republic Act No. 11898 (EPR Act) and SEC requirements for sustainability reporting.
- Strong analytical skills, with an ability to evaluate complex data and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
