The Data Privacy Specialist will assist the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and process owners in ensuring the organization’s compliance with data privacy laws and internal policies. Specific responsibilities include:

The Data Privacy Specialist will assist the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and process owners in ensuring the organization’s compliance with data privacy laws and internal policies. Specific responsibilities include:
Document Management and Compliance
- Assist process owners/DPO in creating, revising, and maintaining documentation such as policies, forms, reports, and data registers.
- Ensure that all documentation is aligned with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) regulations and internal data privacy guidelines.
- Maintain data privacy-related documentation in accordance with relevant ISO standards:
- ISO/IEC 27001:2013 – Information Security Management
- ISO 22301:2019 – Business Continuity Management
- ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management Systems
- Act as liaison between the DPO/process owners and the Legal Office to support privacy-related legal matters.
- Monitor and review new and updated local and international data privacy regulations and maintain a reference file of these for internal use.
- Support the DPO in day-to-day information life cycle operations.
- Assist in the monitoring and enhancement of mechanisms for current and evolving data privacy practices.
- Provide support in the conduct of Business Impact Analyses related to data privacy and information security.
- Maintain and monitor compliance documentation for third parties (e.g., clients, vendors, processors, and affiliates).
- Ensure that third-party data privacy requirements are recorded and tracked appropriately.
- Assist in calendaring and tracking DPO activities on a monthly , quarterly , and annual basis.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in internal compliance , regulatory compliance , or data privacy operations.
- Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Philippines) and National Privacy Commission (NPC) advisories.
- Exposure to ISO standards related to information security, business continuity, and quality management.
- Experience in document control, compliance reporting, and risk assessment.
- Good coordination and communication skills, especially in cross-functional teams.
- Training:
- Training or certification in data privacy , information security , or compliance auditing is a plus.
