Overview:

To ensure the company’s business compliance, advise the company on legal matters, and manage its legal needs.

Key Qualifications:

• CONTRACTS: Read, review, draft, negotiate, and solidify legal paperwork and documentation to protect and support the company’s interests while adhering to national, regulatory, and compliance laws.
• RESEARCH: Undertake and perform in-depth legal research for any local and regional activities or transactions, including but not limited to taxation, banking laws, real estate, technology, personnel, financial structures, and corporate structures.
• ADVISE: Guide the management team on operational or business decisions to ensure adherence to legal limits and business strategy.
• COMPLIANCE: Ensure the company’s compliance with relevant regulations and statutes. Update and inform the company about national and local regulations that impact the business.
• REPRESENT: Represent the company in discussions, interactions, negotiations with third parties as needed (e.g., government agencies/units, investors, partners) and/or represent the company in legal proceedings as needed.
• GOVERNANCE: Assist and support management in developing frameworks for managing their company and its operations, such as in creating bylaws and policies, providing legal guidance to directors, board members, and chief executives.
• COORDINATION: Coordinate, liaise, and collaborate with other lawyers and law firms serving the company to achieve common goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Juris Doctor
• Must possess an updated Professional License (Bar passer), and be a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines
• Proven work experience as a General Corporate Lawyer, Real Estate Lawyer, and/or Legal Advisor roles
• With more than 8 years of experience in legal practice, preferably in real estate
• In-depth knowledge of real estate laws and regulations, as well as technology regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and socialization skills
• Must have business acumen and be able to balance legal strategy with business strategy
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills
• Comprehensive understanding of corporate law (some knowledge of laws in the region not required but a plus)
