Job Summary

  • The Niche & Special Market Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in executing niche market programs designed to grow the bank’s client base in targeted segments. Reporting directly to the Department Head and working closely with Program Managers, this position ensures the seamless implementation of niche initiatives by collaborating and supporting Branch Sales & Service Teams, building relationships with corporate clients, and promotes cross-functional teamwork.

How will you contribute?

  • Assist the Program Managers in the implementation of niche market strategies and initiatives.
  • Ensure all program components are executed according to plan, including timelines, deliverables, and objectives.
  • Provide operational support for on-the-ground activities and ensure alignment with the bank’s strategic goals.
  • Serve as a resource for branch teams by providing program-specific training, coaching, and guidance.
  • Work closely with Branch Managers to execute engagement strategies and support their efforts in acquiring and managing niche clients.
  • Align branch activities with overall niche goals and address challenges faced by branch teams.
  • Represent the bank in client presentations, demonstrating authority and expertise in niche market offerings.
  • Engage directly with corporate leaders, HR representatives, and other decision-makers to promote niche programs.
  • Tailor program presentations to client needs and address concerns effectively.
  • Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, potential challenges, and opportunities within niche markets.
  • Provide insights and feedback to the Program Managers for continuous program improvement and refinement.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including Product Partners, Marketing, and Operations to ensure smooth execution of niche development plans. Work to ensure alignment between branch activities and the overall niche strategy.
  • Actively identify and resolve operational or service delivery gaps during program rollout.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with niche clients to foster loyalty and maximize cross-sell opportunities.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through consistent communication, problem resolution, and proactive support.
  • Assist branches and clients in the smooth onboarding process for new clients within niche segments, ensuring they are properly guided through product offerings, documentations, services, and support channels
  • Serve as an escalation point for client concerns that impact program delivery.
  • Prepare regular reports on progress, challenges, and successes in the execution of niche programs.
  • Maintain documentation of activities, client interactions, and market research for future reference and analysis.
  • Represent the Department at industry events, conferences, and local community gatherings that are relevant to the targeted niche markets. Use these platforms to build networks and generate leads.


  • What will make you successful?

    • University graduate from a reputable educational institution, preferably of a business-related course or Marketing.
    • Should possess in-depth knowledge of banking products and services, including an understanding of industry trends relevant to niche and special market segments.
    • With proven ability to identify, engage, and onboard new clients.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with branch teams and other cross-functional units.
    • Has a track record of driving innovation and implementing creative solutions to address market challenges and anchor on emerging opportunities within niche markets.
    • Results-driven with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales or business development targets.
    • At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in banking, financial services or related industries, with focus on program management, marketing or product development.
