Overall Purpose of The Job

The role is responsible for checking, encoding, and approving invoices in a timely manner as well as checking the monthly vessel report and forward the same to vessel accounts for processing. The job-holder will also assist in ensuring that crew costs are within the approved budget and explains the variances if any

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• On a regular basis, connects to ShipSure suite to code and approve all invoices for the assigned vessel as required by MOTO/Client.
• Checks the payroll and the rest of the Master’s General Account (Vessels Cash Statement, Welfare Fund, Slopchest Account, and other vessel reports as required) for accuracy and consistency ensuring proper endorsement to Vessel Accounts Department for processing.
• Prepares the relevant fund requests to for MPO/Allotment/Final Wages as required.
• Provides assistance in coordinating and arranging CTM request from vessels.
• Assists the team in budget preparation/variance analysis/crew costs reporting and ensuring that crew costs are within the budget as required.
• Performs such other tasks as may be assigned depending on MOTO/client needs

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accountancy or with relevant payroll and/or accounting experience
• Good computer operating skills including word processing and spreadsheet experience. Excellent numerical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• Methodical approach to work and a good eye for detail.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• Proven ability to work to, and meet, tight deadlines.
• Required English language knowledge to the rank.

Desirable

• Experience in using Accounting software and applications
• Demonstrated ability in preparing and analysing financial data and reports
• CPA
