Treasury Specialist - Trader

JOB SUMMARY

The position shall be responsible for a.) handling investment and placement transactions, b.) handling trading of foreign exchange currencies, c.) reporting market updates and market monitoring, and d.) handling bank account management and maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Investments

• Negotiate money market rates to ensure competitiveness of investment deals
• Assist in scouting for new investments that is within the parameters of the investment policies for recommendation to Treasury Manager for review and further approval of Treasury head
• Maintains and updates the investment report
• Ensure that counterparty limits are met for investment transactions

Foreign Exchange

• Negotiate FX rates to ensure competitiveness of FX deals
• Gather market insights and prepare FX related reports for management
• Maintains and updates the FX dashboard

Bank Account Management

• Ensures that all bank accounts have maintained the Minimum Balance Requirement (MBR) and avoid penalty charges on falling below MBR
• Handles opening and closing of accounts
• Handles update of documents relating to bank accounts
• Handles opening of TITF accounts and the eventual conversion to Corporate Accounts
• Handles Sec Cert review from partner banks and coordinate with Legal for review and issurance

Reports Preparation

• Assist in preparation of management reports (particularly cash, liquidity and investment portfolio)
• Maintains Treasury Investment dashboard

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Graduate of 4-year Business course preferably in Accounting or any Finance-related course
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Foreign Exchange, Money Market or Treasury role
• Attendance in BAP's Treasury Certificate Program is an advantage
• Proficient knowledge in Corporate Treasury functions, particularly in areas of Investments, FX, market analysis and Treasury
• Intermediate knowledge on Money Market instruments and on other types of investments
• Basic understanding of derivatives
• Basic knowledge of Accounting and Finance, particularly on Cash Flow Analysis and Market Analysis
• Basic knowledge of Internal Controls and Risk Management
• Basic knowledge in ERP, particularly in SAP
• Proficient analytical skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
