Job Purpose
The Tax & Compliance Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting the Tax Team in auditing VAT documents to ensure compliance with VAT Refund requirements. This role involves performing VAT Refund compliance and validation audits, supporting VAT projects and initiatives, and promoting best practices for VAT compliance across the organization. Additionally, the Tax & Compliance Analyst will recommend VAT compliance strategies that align with the company's business goals and assist with other tasks assigned by superiors.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform VAT Refund Compliance Audits: Conduct thorough reviews of VAT documents and transactions to ensure compliance with VAT Refund requirements. Identify and rectify any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Support VAT Projects & Initiatives: Collaborate with the Tax Team in planning and executing VAT-related projects and initiatives. Provide valuable insights and assistance to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Promote VAT Compliance Best Practices: Work closely with teams across the organization to educate, advise, and encourage adherence to VAT compliance best practices. Foster a culture of awareness and responsibility for VAT compliance.
- Recommend VAT Compliance Strategies: Analyze VAT regulations and industry trends to recommend VAT compliance strategies that align with the company's business goals and minimize tax liabilities.
- Ad-Hoc Tasks: Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by superiors to support the overall objectives of the Tax Team and the organization.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Previous experience in tax compliance, auditing, or related roles is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications
