Broiler Farm Manager: Qualifications and Duties
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field preferred, but associate's degree with broiler farm experience considered.
* Minimum 3 years managing broiler farms, ideally similar in size and production style.
Essential Skills:
* Deep knowledge of broiler production: chick placement, brooding, feed/water management, flock health.
* Maintaining optimal broiler house environment (temperature, ventilation, humidity, and lighting).
* Biosecurity expertise to prevent poultry diseases.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with suppliers and partners.
* Farm business management: budgeting, cost control, recordkeeping.
* Problem-solving and decision-making for bird health, production efficiency, and unexpected situations.
* Leading and motivating farm crew, ensuring animal welfare and safety protocols.

Job Responsibilities:
* Oversee all aspects of broiler production, from chick placement to harvest.
* Develop and implement broiler production plans, including schedules, procedures, and biosecurity protocols.
* Manage broiler health and well-being, preventing and treating diseases.
* Ensure proper feed and water quality and availability for broilers.
* Lead farm crew in chick placement, litter management, and biosecurity practices.
* Maintain farm records on bird growth, feed consumption, mortality, and medication usage.
* Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and optimize flock performance.
* Stay updated on best practices in broiler production, poultry health, and biosecurity.
* Ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards for broiler production and animal welfare
