Structural Designer

Structural Design Works

1.) Reviews structural drawing packages prepared by the Structural Consultant and Contractors, with emphasis on safety and potential cost savings.
2.) Performs structural analysis and design of structural components.
3.) Provides support to Construction Department. Comment on and Review Construction Shop Drawings and Material Submittals.
4.) Responds to Peer Review Comments, when necessary.

Coordination
5.) Collaborates with TSG structural regarding site concerns, when necessary.
6.) Coordinates changes, updates and revisions of structural design criteria, technical specifications and structural calculations.
7.) Coordinates with Geotechnical Consultant regarding foundation design options, foundation capacities and foundation solutions that are efficient and cost effective.
8.) Explores value engineering design options where there are potential cost savings.

Cost Safety

9.) Review Contract Documents and Employer’s Requirements with possible impact on Structural Cost.
10.) Complies with Project Safety Programs

11.) Implements safety and health plans of the project
12.) All other items as directed by the Project Manager and/or Management.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

In Depth Knowledge in Structural Analysis and Design of Structures and Structural Components.
In Depth Understanding of Building Code Provisions, Design Guidelines and Minimum Requirements
In Depth Understanding of Construction Methodologies and Sequences.
Has experience in Design Peer Review and capable to respond Peer Review Queries, when necessary
Capable to conduct Construction Meetings
Good Interpersonal Skills

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Experience: With at least 3-5 years' work experience in the field of Structural Engineering
