Software Quality Engineer is responsible for reviewing quality specification and technical documents to provide accurate report to development team. They are also responsible in creating detailed and comprehensive test plan and test cases. They provide test plan and test project schedule as well as roadblocks or issues. They explore existing test cases and expand to ensure quality or software and sometimes they create automation tools to speed up product delivery. Their responsibilities include design and test execution, defect analyzation and debugging, providing corrective test process and test metrics review and bug tracking.

Responsibilities include:

• Performs Integration, Regression, AdHoc, Guerilla, Certification and Compatibility Testing
• Creates Test Plan base on product or Software Requirement
• Reports Test Results and Issues found during testing
• Creates/Open JIRA report if there are issues found
• Creates issue or bug tracker for every project release
• Verifies issue when Developers provided a fix and properly close verified bugs
• Be able to verify issue in any available OS platforms (Windows, and Linux)
• Be able to verify issue in both Retail and HSR (POS & POS Devices)
• Be able to verify issue in all available utilities, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, and previous build releases
• Provides support to developers when analyzing, replicating or investigating an issue or bug
• Spearhead test cases among members when assign to project lead role
• Creates test document every project release and promote it to PLM Merlin
• Conducts Postmortem and kick off when assign to Project Lead role
• Maintains Customer and Noncustomer bugs for every manager under our department
• Creates automation tool to improve project schedule
• Provides test strategies to improve test implementation
• Can provide software and hardware troubleshooting
• Performs adhoc or out of the box testing which expands our existing test cases
• Maintains and reviews test templates and test document
• Maintains team’s defective devices tracking
• Navigates Software tester and provides technical training
• Group leader who manages 4 Software tester I
• Provides overall team’s project issues
• Maintains and Creates troubleshooting guides
• Printer Trouble shoot and Repair
• Projects Involvement

• Display Certification and Firmware Testing
• Line Display Certification and Firmware Testing
• Keyboard Certification and Firmware Testing
• SSD and Hard Drive Certification
• RAM and Processor Upgrade certification
• Utility Testing (RPSW, RPDM, RPSL, LLDiags, Printer Flash, NCR OSD, ROMFlasher, LLdiags, RPSL, System Monitor, PrintAssistant Utlity, NCROPOSTest.exe, Gen 3 Platform Drive, Imaging Suite, RadioNT, RadBio, USB Utilities, Keyboard Remap, Partition Image).
• Printer Firmware Testing
• BIOS and UEFI Certification
• Windows OS Certification (POSReady 7, Windows 7, Windows 10 32 & 64 bit, POSReady 2009, XPPro, WEPOS, XPE)
• Linux OS Certification (NLPOS 9, Fedora Core 19, Fedora Core 22, Fedora Core 23, SLEPOS 10, SLEPOS 11 SP3, SLEPOS 11 SP4, SLES 12 SP2, SLES 12 SP3, SLES 12 SP4, SLES 15, NCRLinuxC, NCRLinuxC2.0)
• Digi Edgeport driver for Printer and Scanner

Basic Requirements:

• BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics & Communications Engineering or associated degree in any software related course.
• Experience in software black box testing.
• 2-3 years relevant experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications
• Able to communicate effectively, adapt to changing requirements, and provide frequent status updates to the Manager.
• Experience with one or more of the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows 9X, NT, 2000, and XP, Linux OSes
  
  

Preferred Requirements:

• 2+ years’ work experience in related position
• Experience in Atlassian Tools like JIRA & Confluence
• Performance management exposure & analysis are a plus
• Root-cause analysis (RCA) experience is a plus
• Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, & Lean Six Sigma) exposure is a plus
• Experienced in test cases and scripts creation
• Experienced of any test automation Scripting is a plus
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail with the capability of working towards tight deadlines
• Knowledgeable in software development and testing concepts and methodology
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work in a team and individually
