The Central Queensland Region Partnerships and Programs team is looking for a motivated Education Officer (State Delivered Kindergarten) to support quality improvement of kindergarten programs, in State Schools across the region. The position will focus on building on the knowledge and capability of school leaders and educators in educational programming and practice (National Quality Standards 1 and 5) to support learners in kindergarten, including those in composite classroom settings.
The successful applicant must possess a 4-year early childhood teaching qualification, demonstrate an understanding of the Australian Curriculum, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline, Age-Appropriate Pedagogies and effective Transitions. This position will include travel to rural and remote areas within the Central Queensland Region to support State Delivered Kindergartens.
The successful candidate will be employed at the classification listed on the attached role description under EOSD provisions.

The Education Officer (SDK) will work with School Supervisors, the Senior Advisor - SDK and the wider Partnerships and Programs team to provide contextualised support to ensure children have a great start through high quality learning experiences and successful transitions.
As The Education Officer, You Will
The Education Officer - State Delivered Kindergarten can be based at any one of the three Central Queensland Regional Offices, Emerald, Gladstone or Mackay.
Mandatory Requirements

As The Education Officer, You Will
- Lead, research and contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives, programs and projects for the work unit by undertaking project or research work leading to improved corporate performance.
- Provide advice on strategies, initiatives, programs, projects and services to deliver high quality outcomes by modifying or revising established techniques, methods, systems or policies to propose solutions with enduring affects.
The Education Officer - State Delivered Kindergarten can be based at any one of the three Central Queensland Regional Offices, Emerald, Gladstone or Mackay.
Mandatory Requirements
- You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.
- Employees' engaged temporarily as Education Officer - Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 5.12 of the Department of Education State School Teachers' Certified Agreement 2022
- When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
