Principal Software Engineer

Bloop is in partnership with a fast-growing blockchain data analytics company catering to the needs of business and retail customers in the cryptocurrency industry with a focus on digital asset lifecycle tracking for thousands of tokens across dozens of wallets and exchanges.

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to take on the design and lead in the development of our analytic software. Candidates must have experience designing scalable systems that run in the AWS cloud and identifying bottlenecks. Core technologies we use are Java and SQL.

We use common services including Slack, Google Apps, and the Atlassian suite, as well as industry-specific tools built for working with various blockchains.

Core Responsibilities

● Analysis of software designs and implementations to identify weaknesses across standard facets of software development such as security, monitoring/insight, alerting, scalability, and throughput.

● Approach the design and implementation of software in a way to balance speed against resource constraints such as cost, memory, storage and information retrieval.

● Take a leadership role in the development effort to improve upon and expand our digital assets lifecycle tracking software

Professional Responsibilities

● Write robust, maintainable, and clean code by adhering to established engineering standards, tooling, and processes. All code is peer reviewed for style and function.

● Work with team members to iterate on customer needs.

● Participate in code reviews and group discussions.
