What You Will Be Doing
The Operational IT Security Analyst plays a vital role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets. Their responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring security systems, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities, and responding to security incidents efficiently and effectively.
In the event of a security incident, you will contribute to the incident response process by supporting investigations, analyzing event logs and coordinating with other teams to contain and remediate the issues. This requires a detail-oriented and methodical approach, as well as the ability to remain composed under pressure.
In addition to incident response support, you will help strengthen the organization's security posture by assisting with the implementation of security measures, supporting security awareness activities, and continuously monitoring and improving security controls to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and Incident Response
- Monitor and analyse security alerts and logs to identify potential threats.
- Contribute to incident response and support investigations of malware, exploits, and other security events.
- Escalate issues to senior engineers when necessary
- Vulnerability Management
- Help track and manage remediation efforts in collaboration with IT teams following security assessments and audits
- Maintain patch management records and support updates
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
- Security Administration
- Manage user access controls, permissions, and password policies.
- Support firewall, antivirus, and endpoint protection configuration.
- Assist in implementing security policies and procedures.
- Privileged Access Management Administration
- Discover privileged accounts
- Create, onboard and manage privileged accounts and roles
- Configure policies for password complexity, rotation, and expiration
- Collaborate with security and IT teams to enhance security posture
- Security Awareness
- Help train staff on basic security best practices (e.g., phishing awareness).
- Provide support for security-related issues raised by end-users.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Security, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CEH, CCNA) preferred.
- 1–2 years’ practical experience in cybersecurity or related field (internships/entry-level roles acceptable), with exposure to labs, bootcamps, or penetration testing.
- Proficiency in Windows OS security, secure software practices, authentication, access controls, cryptography, and cybersecurity principles (confidentiality, integrity, availability).
- Strong knowledge of network security, including protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), firewalls, traffic analysis, and use of tools such as WAF, IDS/IPS, EDR, AV, SIEM, and PAM.
- Experience in incident response, forensics, vulnerability management, and preferred exposure to penetration testing/ethical hacking tools.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills, with ability to collaborate across IT teams, manage priorities, and stay current with cybersecurity trends.
