Mechanical Engineer - Onsite Cebu

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our US Engineering Team, focusing on Design for Manufacturability (DFM). This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical components and systems that are efficient, cost-effective, and easy to manufacture at scale. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design for Manufacturability: Develop mechanical designs that optimize manufacturability while maintaining quality, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Production Teams: Partner with manufacturing and production teams to address design challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions that improve efficiency.
• Process Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of designs into production workflows, considering fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes and conduct testing to validate designs, making adjustments based on performance and manufacturability.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in design and production, driving initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Documentation: Generate and maintain accurate technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation to support manufacturing and quality assurance.
• Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure parts and materials meet design and production requirements.
• Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to applicable industry standards, regulations, and company policies
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience:oMinimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on manufacturability preferred.
  
  

oExperience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  
  

Understanding of fabrication methods (e.g., machining, sheet metal, welding, injection molding).

Familiarity with GD&T and technical drawing standards.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address design and production challenges.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Experience in designing mechanical systems for capital equipment or similar industries.
• Knowledge of material selection for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for engineering and production integration.
• Experience with tolerance analysis and ensuring fit, form, and function in assemblies.
