Junior Data Analyst - Financial Market Data

Overview

ISS STOXX is looking for an analytically minded and technically savvy individual to join our growing Data Organization. Ideal candidates will have a high level of independent judgment, an incredible attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment both in a team setting and autonomously.

This is an ideal position for a new college graduate who is looking for a position that is going to be challenging, demand high performance, but will give them hands-on experience working with big data, and financial analytics.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to research efforts to maintain an up-to-date database for global mutual fund products.
• Collect data based on established methodologies, comply with established work process and performance standards to ensure timely and high-quality data.
• Effectively utilize databases, internal applications, and the Internet to complete research.
• Recognize and report problems for review by Senior Research Analysts
• Participate in data quality assurance efforts, including performing root-cause analysis for identified data quality issues.
• Support relevant process improvement and technology projects by contributing to specifications and testing deliverables.
• Help maintain documentation of work processes and institutional knowledge in a centralized, web-based database.
• Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

Training & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree graduate in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or any closely related field (Fresh Graduates are encouraged to apply).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; can thrive in a cross-border / multi-cultural work environment.
• Ability to work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment with all levels of professional, technical, and administrative staff and to integrate resources on a timely and organized basis.
• Strong mathematical skills and has demonstrated troubleshooting, follow-through, and critical-thinking skills.
  
  

Experience working with any of the following would be a plus:

• Knowledge of mutual fund industry
• Knowledge of variable contracts or mutual fund fee structures a plus
• Experience using Excel to manipulate and prepare financial data a plus
  
  

Work Location & Schedule:

• Amenable working at Makati City (willing to work day or mid shifts as business requires)
• Amenable working at Makati City on a permanent late dayshift schedule (12nn- 9pm, Manila Time)
• Amenable to go on a 2-6 month 100% onsite training prior to transitioning to hybrid working arrangement.
• Hybrid working arrangement (at least 3 days' work onsite per week)
