Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze inventory-related financial statements.
  • Ensure accurate reflection of inventory values in the general ledger.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Reconciliation
  • Perform regular reconciliations of inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory counts and system records.
  • Reconcile inventory-related accounts including:
  • Inventory in Transit
  • Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI)
  • Inventory Reserves and Write-offs
    • Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
  • Accruals and Prepayments
  • Record and manage accruals for inventory purchases not yet invoiced.
  • Monitor and amortize prepayments related to inventory (e.g., deposits to suppliers).
    • Ensure timely and accurate month-end accrual entries.
  • Month-End Close
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to inventory transactions.
  • Ensure all inventory-related accounts are closed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to validate inventory movements and adjustments.
