About The Team & Business Line

As a core member of our Fund Accounting team, you will be working with some of the industry’s most accomplished professionals to deliver award-winning services for complex fund structures that our clients can depend upon.

Position Overview

Reporting to a Vice President, the Fund Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the fund accounting operations for a range of complex hedge fund clients, in accordance with the Service Level Agreements. The Fund Accounting Manager will require a comprehensive understanding of hedge fund operations and complex financial instruments. The successful candidate will also manage a team of fund accountants, review workflow process improvements, evaluate process risk, and work together with the Local Office counterparts.

Responsibilities

Main Job Functions/Tasks

• Review and ensure accuracy of accounting records, trade and non-trade related bookings, cash and portfolio reconciliations, portfolio valuations and net asset value calculations
• Plan, schedule and manage the daily workflows of all client and Local Office deliverables
• Work with other managers to ensure efficient allocation of staff and workflow and assist Supervisors and fund accountants with their daily work as needs arise
• Act as primary contact with Local Office and lead monthly office client calls
• Keep Senior Management abreast of all material issues affecting the processing of deliverables
• Review procedures and recommend solutions to improve efficiencies through automations
• Ensure adherence to all internal and external audit standards, including standard operating procedures
• Assist and support the migration of new clients and fund set-ups
• Develop, adhere and maintain targets concerning key KPIs, staffing, productivity and overtime budgeting
• Create staff development plans, conduct effective 1:1 meetings with direct reports, and implement training and performance management initiatives
• Complete ad hoc reports and operations metrics as required by management
• Perform other relevant tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
  
  

Qualifications

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance or any business related course
• Relevant professional designation is an advantage (CPA, CFA, CMA)
• At least 8 years of experience in accounting; accounting experience in private equity, fund accounting or hedge fund industry is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing staff
• Exposure to systems implementations and work flow process initiatives
• Willing to work on shifting schedule
• Demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills
• Advanced skills in MS Excel is an advantage
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a changing, fast-paced work environment
• Strong risk awareness mindset
