We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Materials Engineer to be part of our Marine and Materials Technology Team.
About The Role
You will be expected to provide technical expertise on projects and contribute to structure condition assessments, calculations, repair design drawings, technical specifications, and reporting. This may include site investigation planning and management, laboratory and field tests results interpretation, and site work as necessitated by the project.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
This job offer can be based either in Makati or Quezon City office, depending on your home base / location.

About The Role
You will be expected to provide technical expertise on projects and contribute to structure condition assessments, calculations, repair design drawings, technical specifications, and reporting. This may include site investigation planning and management, laboratory and field tests results interpretation, and site work as necessitated by the project.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- Demonstrate ability to manage the delivery of materials engineering jobs and proposals
- Hands on design and analysis capability on repair / remediation, material testing and use of any available inspection or assessment tool/software
- Technical mentoring of junior staff/s
- Supervision of junior engineering staff/s
- Project management of job/s or proposal/s assigned by BGL or team leader
- Contribute to the implementation of the Service Group business action plan
- Provide technical expertise on projects and contribute to structure condition assessments, calculations, repair design drawings, technical specifications, and reporting. This may include site investigation planning and management, laboratory and field tests results interpretation, and site work as necessitated by the project.
- Leads and oversees the work of project team to achieve project milestones and objectives; including allocating tasks, ensuring compliance, setting priorities, reprioritising as required, and coordinating and supervising the daily activities of the team.
- Provides support to local team and liaise with experts in other GHD operating centres including US/NZ/AUS
- Liaison with peers throughout GHD to achieve technical outcome
- Client liaison
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Materials Engineering
- Minimum 8 years' professional experience in the related engineering field
- Technical capability in materials engineering related fields including:
- Corrosion protection
- Concrete technology
- Repair
- Material testing
- Condition assessment
- A sound understanding of materials engineering with focus on structural concrete and steel, preferably experienced in site inspections of deteriorated / damaged structures.
