POSITION OVERVIEW
The EMEA Director of Research is responsible for the oversight of the Manila based branch of the EMEA Research Team. Senior Manila based EMEA Research Team members, including senior research analysts and analyst (supervisors), may report directly to the EMEA Director of Research.
The EMEA Director of Research will provide oversight for the production of reports from the Manila based branch of the EMEA Research Team (involves collaboration with EMEA Based Research Leaders). The role may include delegation and collaboration on a range of subjects. The role will also require collaboration with and the regular provision of feedback to EMEA Research Senior Leadership.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS degree and 10+ years of experience in an active corporate governance research role, including at least 3 years in a senior position;
- Fluency in English; High Proficiency in other European languages (including German, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish) are desired but not essential;
- Demonstrated success in mentoring and coaching;
- Broad knowledge of corporate governance principles, legal and regulatory frameworks and emerging industry trends
- Strong time-management, problem solving and people skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including senior-level business writing and presentation skills (oral and written);
- High level of proficiency with online applications and business software (MS Office).
Job Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversight of the Manila based branch of the EMEA Research Team;
- Act as escalation point for internal queries on research in the region;
- Review, edit and publish certain levels of Proxy Papers produced by the Manila based branch of the EMEA Research Team;
- The role may involve the management of certain projects assigned to Manila based team members including the collection of data pertaining to production of research related products;
- Collaboration with different offices and departments in several areas including process and team contribution to large scale projects;
- Collaborating with other regional directors on resource sharing at different stages of the year dependant on seasonal peaks for certain markets;
- Work closely with EMEA Research Senior leadership and Global Research Leadership providing insight on several key areas including team development, team processes and team culture, among others;
- Continuous interaction with, and providing feedback to, senior management in order to identify department-level priorities; and
- Ensuring company policies and guidelines are clearly communicated to the research team.
