What You'll Do
As Deputy General Manager for Operations, you will be entrusted with comprehensive oversight of all operational functions across multiple Visa Application Centres.
- Take full ownership of the business unit’s processes within the country by ensuring strict adherence to established procedures while driving revenue growth and profitability.
- Plan resource allocation effectively by forecasting manpower needs based on historical trends and time-motion studies to optimise staff efficiency and productivity.
- Lead financial management efforts by controlling expenses, maintaining budgets, conducting periodic cost analyses, and achieving profitability targets as set by the organisation.
- Champion operational excellence by developing standard operating procedures, policies, manuals, and leading process improvement initiatives that enhance quality and efficiency at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with all existing processes while meeting defined service level agreements (SLAs) to maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Manage risk proactively by implementing robust physical and data security controls at application centres to prevent breaches or incidents.
- Oversee people management activities including regular product and process training for staff through coaching and development programmes that foster ethical behaviour and integrity.
- Drive business development by collaborating with value-added services teams to create new revenue channels and exploring strategic partnerships with government bodies for expansion opportunities.
- Build lasting relationships with consulate officials (embassy/consulates), retain existing clients during re-bidding processes or contract renewals, and maintain strong vendor partnerships.
- Monitor market competition using intelligence tools to stay updated on regional developments while ensuring judicious use of natural resources in line with environmental health and safety guidelines.
To excel as Deputy General Manager for Operations, you will draw upon extensive experience gained from senior roles within BPOs or related industries such as travel or hospitality.
- A post-graduate degree or global equivalent qualification in any discipline is required for this senior management position.
- You bring 10–15 years’ experience within BPO, travel or hospitality sectors with at least five years spent in senior management roles overseeing large-scale operations.
- Your cross-domain expertise spans HR, IT, administration, finance, and operations within geographically dispersed organisations.
- Proven track record in strategic planning coupled with successful execution of complex projects across multiple business units.
- Exceptional project management skills enabling you to deliver results on time while managing competing priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability in people management including coaching teams for high performance within culturally diverse environments.
- Business acumen reflected in your capacity to drive profitability through sound financial management practices.
- Technologically adept with experience leveraging digital tools for improved reporting, information flow, and operational efficiency.
- Experience setting up new ventures locally or internationally adds further value to your profile.
- Knowledge of a foreign language is highly desirable along with sensitivity towards diversity issues.
