Dental Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures such as cleanings, fillings, extractions, and other routine and surgical treatments.
• Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and equipment for dental procedures.
• Ensure that the treatment rooms are clean, well-stocked, and prepared for each patient.
• Sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to clinic protocols and safety standards.
• Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments and materials to the dentist and ensuring patient comfort.
• Take and develop dental X-rays (if certified) or assist the dentist in taking them.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-procedure care, and proper dental maintenance.
• Record patient information and treatment notes accurately in the patient’s record.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and OSHA standards throughout the clinic.
• Manage inventory of dental supplies and assist with ordering when necessary.
• Handle patient inquiries regarding procedures, appointments, and care instructions.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Support front desk operations by assisting with patient scheduling, phone calls, and check-in/out procedures when needed.
• Assist in patient education programs and other clinic activities (e.g., community outreach).
• Monitor patient flow to ensure smooth operations and minimize waiting times.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the entire clinic, including treatment rooms and common areas.
