At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On
Supporting Canvanauts to do the best work of their lives at Canva Philippines. As the Safety Officer (SO3 or SO4), they will not only ensure industry-standard Occupational Safety and Health practices are in place but also provide a safe and supportive environment for all Canvanauts, particularly during emergencies and calamities. By overseeing the maintenance and repair of office facilities and equipment, and some construction works, this role directly contributes to creating a workspace where our employees can thrive and excel.

By overseeing the maintenance and repair of office facilities and equipment, and some construction works, this role directly contributes to creating a workspace where our employees can thrive and excel.
- Occupational Safety and Health Compliance. Ensure the spaces Canva occupies comply with international and local OSH regulations. Ensure that any facilities and construction works are compliant and that any incidents or hazards are reported and resolved. Work alongside our People team and Global Safety Team to ensure the OSH policies and programs are regularly reviewed and implemented, not only in Manila , but also in campuses in other regions.
- Emergency Response and Disaster Preparedness. Along with the Global and Local Safety Team, Develop and implement Emergency and Disaster preparedness programs to mitigate the risk of property and life damage brought about by emergencies such as fire, earthquake, typhoon, and pandemic.
- First Aid & Emergency Management Training. Monitor, manage and administrate the booking of company wide first aid and emergency management training sessions.
- Collaborate with Facilities and cross-functional teams in ensuring our building and Canva's services are working correctly. Environments within the building should be maintained at all times so our Canvanauts can enjoy a pleasant working space.
- Innovation and Processes. Review and refresh operational processes within safety. Identify and support implementation of cost saves, innovation and best practice. Research new and innovative tools and products that will push Canva into a realm of its own.
- Events support. Plan and execute our support for in-office or off-site events, which includes, but not limited to, logistics, shuttle and bus services, ingress and egress, electrical and water supply, and others.
- You have 5–10 years of proven experience in Facilities and Safety management within the corporate industry, with a strong track record of creating safe, compliant, and people-first workplaces.
- You’re a certified Safety Officer (SO3 or SO4) with deep knowledge of safety regulations, emergency response, and compliance systems—plus, you’re confident navigating the unique needs of a hybrid workplace environment.
- You’re passionate about shaping exceptional employee experiences—actively listening to feedback and using those insights to improve systems, physical spaces, and day-to-day processes.
- You’re a strategic thinker who thrives in complexity. You simplify workflows, balance multiple priorities, and drive meaningful progress through initiative and a strong sense of ownership.
- You’re a clear, confident communicator who collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams—including facilities, construction, operations, and vendors. Bonus if you’ve successfully led vendor partnerships and project timelines.
- You’re open to working onsite on a shifting schedule to ensure operational coverage and business continuity.
- Extra points if you hold a Pollution Control Officer certification.
