The Role: Communications Specialist, CI

S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our global communications team. This role will be pivotal in developing and executing communication strategies that enhance employee engagement and promote a culture of transparency and collaboration within the organization. The ideal candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that our internal communications align with our divisional and corporate goals while delivering impactful support for key initiatives.

Impact

You will:

  • Foster a positive organizational culture and enhance morale through effective communication of key initiatives and updates.
  • Ensure our people are informed, engaged, and aligned with the company's vision and goals, leading to improved collaboration across teams.
  • Enable the identification of opportunities for enhancing communication strategies through monitoring engagement metrics and feedback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies that support the goals of S&P Global Commodity Insights and enhance engagement around core objectives.
  • Create, write, and edit compelling internal content, including memos, newsletters, intranet articles, and presentations that inform and inspire our employees.
  • Engage with global communications team to reinforce best practices and cascade enterprise initiatives.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and leadership to craft clear and effective messaging that communicates key initiatives and priorities within the organization.
  • Manage internal engagement events, including town halls, roundtables, and workshops, ensuring effective communication and participant engagement.
  • Utilize digital communication tools and platforms to enhance internal communication efforts with measurable impact.
  • Monitor feedback, engagement, and other metrics to assess the effectiveness of internal communications and drive success.
  • Provide guidance and support to senior leadership in preparing for internal events and crafting key messages for various audiences.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in internal communications to continuously improve our strategies and approaches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a similar role, preferably within the commodities or financial services sector.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, including intranet management, graphic design, Microsoft Office, AI, and content creation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • A global mindset with an understanding of cultural sensitivities in communication.
  • Hybrid: 2 days/week in the office
  • Must be willing to work in US shift
