Category Buyer

Waltermart Supermarket, Incorporated is seeking an experienced Category Buyer to join our dynamic Buying team based in Munoz, Quezon City, Metro Manila. As a Category Buyer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our product offerings and driving the strategic growth of our supermarket chain. What you'll be doing

• Analysing market trends and consumer preferences to identify new product opportunities that align with Waltermart's brand and strategy
• Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best possible terms, pricing, and availability for our stores
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless product launches and efficient inventory management
• Monitoring sales performance, stock levels, and customer feedback to optimise product assortment and make data-driven decisions
• Developing and executing category management strategies to drive sales, maximise profitability, and enhance the customer experience
• Continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the buying function

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a buying or category management role within the retail or consumer products industry.
• Strong understanding of market trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics in the supermarket and grocery sector.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in data analysis, financial modelling, and strategic planning to drive informed decision-making.
• A customer-centric mindset and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies that enhance the shopping experience.
• A proactive, adaptable, and results-oriented approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
