Job Summary
As a Loan Servicing Manager I within Wholesale Lending Services, you will provide leadership and oversight for a team handling loan maintenance, payments, reports, and reconciliation. You will establish and implement risk control processes, ensure compliance with bank policies, and build relationships across business lines. Your role will focus on guiding staff, managing performance, and supporting talent development. You will help drive operational improvements and contribute to the team's success in a fast-paced environment.
Wholesale Lending Services supports multiple lines of business, including Business Banking, Global Wealth Management, Investment Banking, and Commercial Banking. The group consists of approximately 1,300 employees and manages over $500 billion in loans outstanding. You will collaborate with key partners and support functions to deliver best-in-class service and operational results.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee loan funding, advances, servicing, and reconciliation activities
- Set direction, policies, and guidelines for the team
- Establish and implement risk control processes and operational business models
- Ensure loan documentation, closings, files, audits, and operational risks are managed in line with bank policies and regulations
- Build and maintain relationships with banking teams, credit teams, and key partners
- Manage team member development, talent management, and succession planning
- Provide mentoring, training, and support to new and existing team members
- Assist in creating and implementing departmental procedures
- Set performance standards using key metrics and monitor team performance
- Support system enhancements through scoping and UAT activities
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in loan servicing or related financial services
- At least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- In-depth understanding of loan servicing processes, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proven team leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop staff
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience managing projects and prioritizing tasks
- Commitment to exceptional customer service
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
- Experience in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
- Demonstrated process optimization and implementation of best practices
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Business, or Finance
- Proficiency with loan servicing software and systems (e.g., ACBS, VLS, LOAN IQ) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working in diverse environments and managing a diverse team
- Meets or exceeds performance expectations; not under performance coaching
- Successful completion of all periodic High Value Business Entitlements (HBVE) background checks
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations affecting loan servicing
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
