Position: MID-LEVEL BOOKKEEPER (WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTION & CONSTRUCTION SUPPLIES)
Salary range: Php 75,000/month (The final amount will be at the the client discretion basing on the candidate’s skills and experience.)
Working Hours: New Zealand Business Hours (Monday–Friday)
Work set-up: Full time, 100% Remote work under Independent Contractor Agreement
Holidays: New Zealand public holidays
Recruitment process: possible multiple client interviews and an assessment
About the Company & Opportunity
Our client is a growing New Zealand-based wholesale and distribution business supplying premium construction and surface technology products to trade and commercial customers. Operating in a fast-paced, inventory-driven environment, the company relies on integrated systems to manage purchasing, stock, sales, and financial processes efficiently. They are seeking a detail-oriented Mid-Level Bookkeeper to oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and accounts management while ensuring accuracy across inventory and financial records. This role is ideal for someone who understands how operational and accounting systems work together and enjoys maintaining clean, reliable financial data in a multi-system business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bank, sales, and payment reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Reconcile inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies.
- Process supplier invoices and prepare payment runs.
- Monitor overdue accounts and issue customer statements.
- Support month-end activities and maintain accurate records in Xero.
- Provide financial updates and recommend process improvements.
Work Setup

- Must have a reliable computer and stable internet connection
- Must be available to work during New Zealand business hours
Requirements
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong experience with Xero and account reconciliations.
- Experience managing AP and AR functions.
- Understanding of inventory, purchasing, and stock-based workflows.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in wholesale, distribution, retail, construction supplies, or e-commerce industries.
- Hands-on experience with CIN7 and Shopify.
- Exposure to multi-currency transactions and imported goods.
- Familiarity with GST coding and month-end processes.
- Experience using Excel, Google Sheets, Hubdoc, or Dext.
