What is JobLocator?
JobLocator is a curated remote-only job board. Public listings are reviewed before they appear in search. Some roles are posted by vetted employers on the platform; others are imported and published by our curation team.
Searching for jobs
How does search work?
Enter a job title or keyword, then search. All results are remote roles. Use the advanced search page to filter by category, salary, and how recently the job was published. You can also browse by category from the home page.
What is the match score?
When you have a resume uploaded, job listings can show a percentage match score. It compares your resume to the job description using semantic similarity — related skills and experience count, not only exact keyword matches. Higher scores mean a closer fit. Upload or update your resume to get scores.
Applying for jobs
How do I apply?
The application path depends on the listing:
- Easy Apply — jobs posted directly by employers on JobLocator. Attach your resume, add an optional message, and submit. Your application goes to the employer's inbox on the platform.
- Email application — some listings have a contact email. Click Apply and we reveal the address so you can email the employer from your own mail client.
- External link — some listings link to the employer's careers page. Click Apply to continue there.
Do I need an account to apply?
Yes. You need a candidate account to use Easy Apply, reveal application emails, or log an external apply. You can browse all job listings without an account.
How do I create an account?
Register with email and password, sign in with Google, or use a magic link. Public registration creates a candidate account. Employers join through the hire form after review.
What is My Applications?
My Applications tracks every job you have applied to on the platform — Easy Apply submissions, email reveals, and external applies. Open it from your account menu. You can update each application's status as you move through hiring.
Resumes
How do I upload a resume?
Open My Resumes (or Post a Resume from the Candidates menu). Paste or type your resume text, or upload a PDF, DOC, or DOCX file. Uploaded files are parsed automatically so you can review and edit the fields before saving.
Who can see my resume?
Only registered employers (and admins) can search and view resumes. Your resume does not appear in public search engine results and is not accessible to guests or other candidates.
How do I delete a resume?
Go to My Resumes, open the resume, and delete it. It leaves employer search immediately. Job alerts are driven by your resume — if you delete the resume used for alerts, matching stops until you upload another and subscribe again if needed.
AI tools
What AI tools are available?
Candidates can use:
- Match score — semantic fit between your resume and a job.
- Cover Letter — a letter tailored to a specific listing.
- Gap Analysis — skills or experience the role needs that your resume does not clearly show.
- Resume Rebuild — feedback and a clearer rewrite of your resume that you can apply to the edit form or discard.
File upload also uses AI parsing to fill the resume form.
Are AI tools free?
Yes during launch. Cover Letter, Gap Analysis, and Resume Rebuild are available without purchase, subject to daily fair-use limits (currently up to 30 cover letters, 30 gap analyses, and 2 rebuilds per day). Soft monthly review thresholds may apply for unusually heavy use.
How does Resume Rebuild work?
Open a resume from My Resumes to edit it. At the top of the form, start a Rebuild. The AI scores your resume, lists concrete suggestions, and drafts an improved version. Preview the original and improved side by side, then choose Accept & Replace (loads the improved content into the form so you can review and save) or Discard (leaves your saved resume unchanged). The daily fair-use cap is 2 rebuilds per day.
How does Gap Analysis work?
On a job listing page, open Gap Analysis. The tool compares the job description to your uploaded resume and lists skills or experience areas the role needs that your resume does not clearly cover.
Job alerts
How do job alerts work?
Alerts match newly published jobs to your uploaded resume using the same semantic matching behind the match score. You do not configure search terms — matching is driven by your resume.
How often are alerts sent?
During launch, candidates get daily alerts with up to 10 matching jobs.
How do I subscribe to alerts?
Log in as a candidate, upload a resume, then use the Job alerts widget on My Resumes. Job pages may also nudge you there. You can have one active alert subscription at a time.
How do I unsubscribe?
Every alert email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe from My Resumes.
For employers — posting jobs
How do I post a job?
JobLocator does not offer open self-serve employer signup. Tell us about your company and remote roles on the hire form. We review every partnership before an employer account can post.
How much does it cost?
Posting is free for vetted employers.
What is included in a posted listing?
- Priority in search — employer-posted listings receive a mild ranking boost versus imported roles.
- Easy Apply — candidates apply on the platform; applications land in your inbox without sharing a public contact email.
- Applicant inbox — review applications from your employer dashboard.
How long does a listing stay active?
Each listing is active for 30 days. You can renew it from My Jobs. Renewal consumes one job-posting credit.
Privacy & data
What data does the platform store?
We store your account details (name, email, password hash), resumes you create, applications you submit, entitlements and purchases, and data needed for match scoring and alerts. We also keep internal AI call logs and product analytics events for operations and abuse prevention. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Is my resume processed by AI?
Yes. When you upload a resume file, we use AI to parse it into the form fields. Cover Letter, Gap Analysis, and Resume Rebuild also use AI. We process resume and job text to power match scores and job alerts. Before generation prompts are sent, email addresses and phone numbers are stripped from resume content. How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from the Danger Zone on your profile settings. That removes your account and associated resumes (candidates) or jobs (employers). Some operational records (for example certain logs or analytics) may remain. Contact us if you need help with a deletion request.
