About The Role

The Uber Global Scaled Solutions (GSS) team is seeking an experienced, results-oriented Training Manager to join our team. This role focuses on advancing and enabling various training initiatives by utilizing cutting-edge techniques and strategies to enhance learning outcomes.

The Training Manager will play a crucial role in transforming training experiences by developing comprehensive and tailored learning curriculums for different learning personas and capacities. The ideal candidate should be able to assess current learning trends and possess the vision to accelerate training readiness through innovative and effective training methods. Additionally, in this role, you will also be responsible for ensuring the training content is the best in the industry, and current state utilizing new ways to teach through bite-sized content, engaging and quick training snippets, keeping in mind our unique and non-traditional leaner base.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Education, Training, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of proven experience as an L&D/Training Manager, preferably in a corporate training environment with a track record of designing and implementing training programs.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and familiarity with instructional design methodologies
  • Familiarity and knowledge of learning and development methods and subsequent e-learning platforms and practices
  • Proficiency with content creation tools like Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite, and Articulate Storyline is a must, and experience in using Learning Management Systems as a platform for project management
  • Demonstrated excellence in digital research Proven ability to effectively find resources and conduct research online to support program success or identify better candidates for tasks that training will be given to.
  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic digital research for identifying exceptional talent with precise role-specific competencies, implementing targeted pre-screening protocols that evaluate both technical qualifications and adaptability to training while ensuring optimal candidate-to-task alignment.
  • Project management with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Exhibit strong analytical skills, with a proven track record of making data-driven business decisions.
  • Strong working knowledge of productivity tools such as Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, or equivalent.
  • Innovative thinker capable of generating compelling content, ideas, and narratives.
  • Worked at a high-paced, fast-growing tech startup, or large tech company, or has a consulting background
  • Proficient in content creation techniques, including design and CMS tools like Vyond and Articulate, with the ability to develop creative and micro-learning content based on Training Needs Analysis (TNA).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in driving automated solutions to streamline training delivery
  • MBA in any related field is an added advantage

What You will do:

Training Delivery

  • You will develop and implement comprehensive training programs, evaluate training needs, design training programs, and assess learning effectiveness.
  • Partner with stakeholders and SMEs to design and develop programs that align with business objectives and product requirements while addressing the needs of a diverse audience.
  • Manage and maintain training repositories, SOPs, and other channels to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available to all stakeholders.
  • Groom a team of remote trainers, instructional designers, and coordinators, to deliver high-quality training programs.
  • Identifying training needs and priorities through needs assessments, performance evaluations, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Track and report on training metrics and KPIs to measure the impact and ROI of training programs.

Content Development

  • Develop engaging and effective training materials, including e-learning modules, videos, and interactive presentations using assets such as graphics, animations, simulations, and interactive exercises.
  • Provide quality oversight and be accountable for all written and visual content to ensure top-notch standards are maintained in terms of style, grammar, authenticity, originality, and creativity, for all training materials (while strictly adhering to Uber's style guide and legal requirements)
  • Streamline written and visual content into bite-sized content (30 seconds to 2-minute minutes), using creative storyboarding and animatics to draft video concepts.
  • Lead and groom a team of storyboard artists, instructional designers, and content developers to build engaging content to improve learner retention, facilitating consistent production output quality.

Collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing training curriculums and make data-driven recommendations for improvement and enhancement.
  • Collaborate to create engaging and effective training materials, including e-learning modules, videos, and interactive presentations to enhance training delivery and effectiveness.

Knowledge of L&D Trends

  • Research and assess the potential impact of new trends on training initiatives, recommending innovative solutions to enhance learning outcomes and customize learning for different audiences
  • Drive LMS Management adoption across all workflows. Stay updated on emerging LMS features and automation tools to enhance the learning experience and drive innovation.
