SiteHost, an international Web Hosting company, is expanding our presence in the Philippines, and we’re looking for a Technical Operations Lead to join our team in the Angeles City office. This is a key leadership role where you’ll have both technical and operational responsibilities, contributing directly to the success of our cloud infrastructure services.


On the front lines of a busy web hosting company, a wide range of skills are required.  The nature of our company means we are looking for candidates with strong programming and systems development skills, not just Operations aptitude. You won’t just be expected to code - you’ll be putting those skills to use regularly. From automating workflows and building internal tools to debugging complex infrastructure issues and contributing to improvements across our systems, your development skills will play a crucial part to how we work and solve problems. 


We’re looking for someone with hands-on programming experience and strong development skills. You’ll lead with code, make high-impact technical decisions, and ensure smooth day-to-day technical operations as we scale.

What You’ll Do:


As the Technical Operations Lead, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day technical operations of our small but capable team in Angeles City, while staying hands-on with code and technical problem-solving. You’ll collaborate with our New Zealand-based teams to ensure infrastructure performance and reliability, contribute to and review development work, and you’ll help resolve complex technical issues across systems. A significant part of your role will involve mentoring and supporting engineers based mainly in Angeles City - helping them grow technically, refining team processes, and driving continuous improvement in how we build and maintain our systems.

You may have had a similar role before, or you may be in a senior engineering or development role at the moment and looking for your next challenge - if that’s you, we’d love to talk to you.

You likely have informed opinions on how to approach building and scaling systems based on your experience - but you're also open-minded, adaptable, and ready to support alternative approaches when they make sense. You’ll also be someone that thrives on taking ownership of projects and delivering. 


You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Experience in a senior development or software engineering role
  • Strong programming skills (we use a mix of PHP, Python, Go, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with web hosting, DNS, or infrastructure as a service (IaaS)
  • Experience with DevOps practices and system monitoring
  • A high bar for quality, but a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • A mentoring mindset - you enjoy helping others grow and succeed
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
