What You Will Be Doing
As a Technical Buyer, you will be using your technical knowledge to assist in sourcing and purchasing supplies to the right place at the right time, while addressing exceptions, contingencies, and vendor performance management. You will be evaluating products on quality, delivery and technical specifications and supporting the buyers in sourcing decisions.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Technical Buyer, you will be using your technical knowledge to assist in sourcing and purchasing supplies to the right place at the right time, while addressing exceptions, contingencies, and vendor performance management. You will be evaluating products on quality, delivery and technical specifications and supporting the buyers in sourcing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical knowledge and experience to (assist buyers in) sourcing best products within the company’s framework and existing contracts.
- Logistics: Coordinate delivery of supplies at the right place and the right time with Logistics service providers.
- Contingency management & exception handling: Coordinate and execute resolution of contingencies and exceptions.
- Support Contract Management: Perform Contract analysis, monitoring delivery versus price and service level agreements.
- Support Vendor Performance Management: Analysis of vendor performance and cost development; support the performance review cycle.
- Continuous improvement: Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders such as ships crews, superintendents and fleet managers to optimize order processes and costs.
- Participate in Procurement projects relevant to the purchasing category.
- Coordinate invoice disputes: Review invoice discrepancies and disputes.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 3–5 years’ proven experience in a purchasing role within a technical environment, preferably maritime.
- At least 5 years’ sourcing/buying experience in maritime logistics, with strong knowledge of marine equipment, spare parts, and supplier markets.
- Strong analytical ability to review technical documentation, interpret complex data, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience managing stakeholder interests and driving successful outcomes.
- Collaborative team player with cultural awareness, able to work effectively in multinational and dynamic environments.
- Proficient in MS Office; fluent in English (spoken and written); proactive in managing expectations and identifying improvement opportunities.
