Supplier Quality Engineer (Cables and Industrial Lasers)

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and continuously improve new and existing suppliers to Coherent
• Communicate and cooperation closely with engineering, SCM for new product support
• Feedback of quality issues to vendors and ensure permanent resolution through CAPA
• Measure and monitor performance of vendors through scorecards and quarterly business review
• Identify cost and quality savings from vendor
  
  

Education & Experience

• Graduate of Engineering Course (Electronics or any related field)
• At least 5 years of experience in Semiconductor or Electronics / Optoelectronics Industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in supplier quality management or quality control.
• Experience on start-up manufacturing set-up.
  
  

Skills

• Knowledgeable on ISO 9001:2015, EMS & OHSAS. Certified lead auditor is highly regarded.
• Strong background on basic quality principles & ISO standards.
• Expertise in Quality tools such as 8D, 7 QC Tools, SPC, FMEA, MSA, PDCA, COQ/COPQ.
• Excellent auditing skills.
• Experienced in performing Internal, Customer, and Supplier Audits.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead cross functional teams to drive quality improvements.
• Good understanding of material technique and manufacturing process, material properties and inspection knowledge.
• Skills in evaluation of raw material. Master material properties and test, mechanic test and environment test.
• Good learner and ability to optimize supplier management and continuously improve quality of raw materials.
• Assertive, with strong drive to implement Quality policies, objectives and programs. Flexible & highly adaptive to fast-paced working environment.
