Position Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the expanding Thermo Fisher Scientific Shared Services, in a company considered a global leader in its field.
The role will be responsible for the people management of a team of specialists, analysts and assistants. It requires deep understanding of operational accounting processes. Coaching experience is desirable.
You must be organized, a good communicator, motivator and team player, who is prepared to ensure the team works collaboratively at pace and delivers timely, good quality reporting results. They must be experienced in working in a large multi-national, complex structure with the ability to prioritise, to follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environment. They will also be expected to have a process improvement approach, able to complete improvement initiatives and bringing others on that journey.
The successful candidate must have experience in Accounting Operations Specialist roles.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach and develop the team, collaboratively responsible for the monthly US GAAP reporting, annual reporting, local statistical reporting, internal and external audit deliverables.
- Accountable for ensuring that all operational finance activities in the team are completed accurately and on time.
- Reviewing and approving payments, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure financial compliance and SOX control measures required are performed without exception
- Drive a performance and customer first culture.
- Deliver operational excellence through strong organizational skills and effective resource management
- Drive PPI initiatives, including Gemba walks, Just Do Its, Daily Tier Management and Leader Standard Work to ensure that all problems are highlighted for resolution.
- Support requests from external and internal auditors as well as various groups company-wide.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience in RtR Operational Accounting Specialist role, or equivalent
- 3 years leadership experience
- Accuracy is required in covering all aspects of the role

- Deep operational accounting process knowledge
- High level of proactivity to drive continuous improvement
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well under time constraints
- Computer literacy, incl. MS Excel
- Fluent in English
