What are we looking for?

Skills Required

• Proficient in using captioning/subtitling tools like SRT, STL, BDN, DoST, and ITT.
• Accurate timing and syncing of subtitles with English or foreign-language audio.
• Familiarity with subtitle styles and formats including NTSC, PAL, pop-on, and roll-up.
• Fast and accurate typing (60–70 WPM) with excellent transcription skills.
• Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and subtitle formatting rules.
  
  

Nice To Have

• Experience with closed captioning production processes and industry standards.
• Ability to QC subtitles and generate detailed quality control reports.
• Familiarity with foreign languages for syncing and prepping multilingual subtitle files.
  
  

What will you do?

• Create and reformat closed captions and subtitles according to client and platform standards.
• Use captioning/subtitling software to time and sync subtitles with audio accurately.
• Import, prep, and export subtitle files in various formats for final delivery (DVD/BD, digital).
• Proofread, spell-check, and verify subtitles for accuracy in grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
• Review and apply QC feedback, and conduct quality checks on own and others’ work.
