Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Validation:
- Receiving incoming materials and supplies, validating next to purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspecting materials on its physical condition: i.e; good stock, damage or physical discrepancies vs documents.
- Storing materials in an organized and accessible manner, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Maintaining a clean and safe storage area.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems.
- Monitoring stock levels and placing replenishment orders as needed.
- Conducting regular physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
- Issuing materials and supplies to authorized personnel based on requisitions.
- Ensuring materials are issued in the correct quantities and quality.
- Maintaining accurate records of receipts, issues, and inventory levels.
- Preparing and distributing documentation related to materials and supplies. Other Duties:
- Assisting with loading and unloading materials.
- Operating warehouse equipment, such as forklifts (if applicable).
- Coordinating with suppliers and project managers.
- Maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Strong organizational skills: Ability to keep track of inventory and ensure materials are readily available.
- Attention to detail: Accuracy in record-keeping and material handling is crucial.
- Basic math skills: Ability to perform calculations related to inventory and quantities.
- Physical stamina: Ability to lift and move materials, potentially including heavy items.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems: Familiarity with manual or computerized inventory tracking software.
- Experience in a construction or warehouse environment: Previous experience as a storekeeper or similar role is a plus.
- Forklift certification (if applicable): Ability to safely operate forklifts is essential for certain activities. Certified NC II holder.
