Steel Detailer (2D Scrubbing, Tekla experience)

ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for a Steel Detailer who will help with the 2D scrubbing of shop drawings and interpreting architectural and structural building plans. This role will also prepare shop drawings and calculate the dimensions of various steel elements.

WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (12:00 AM – 9:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Read and interpret architectural and structural building plans and specifications
• Create a set of shop drawings for structural steel items showing required dimensions, welds, holes, locations
• Prepare shop drawings using AISC and AWS standards
• Create a set of shop drawings for miscellaneous steel items showing required dimensions, welds, holes, locations
• Use and understand basic 3D modeling operations and detail processes
• Use and understand basic weld types and sizing in various applications
• Understand basic construction techniques
• Plan and calculate lengths and dimensions of various steel elements according to construction tolerances
• Understand the basic fabrication process
• Organize and prioritize project needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor’s degree in the related field
• At least a year of industry experience in
• 2D scrubbing experience
• At least a year of experience with Tekla
• Ability to distinguish the following basic construction trade drawings:
• Architectural
• Structural
• HVAC
• Plumbing
• Electrical
• Able to understand and use drawing scale
• Can build models using Tekla Structures and write RFIs
• Ability to understand basic plan/section nomenclature
• Can coordinate and gather information between various trade drawings
• Able to interpret and assess relevant information in various sections and plans about structural and miscellaneous steel
• Can locate and assess conflicts between trade drawings
• Experience in a multi-client environment
• Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
• Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
• Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
