SRE/DevOps Engineer

You will be responsible for the reliability, availability and performance of Trendspek’s cloud infrastructure: this includes the application, the processing pipeline, and the website.

This role involves designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and automating processes to ensure continuous delivery and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with development and security teams to drive best practices in system architecture, deployment, and incident management, ensuring seamless integration and high uptime across all environments.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor applications and services for performance, integrity, and potential security risks.
• Monitor and improve CI/CD pipelines, processing pipeline, and E2E tests.
• Provide suggestions for constantly improving processes, pipelines, services and infrastructure.
• Work with the development team to improve DX, build and testing procedures.
• Work with the security/compliance team to ensure secure practices, including patching, upgrading, facilitating security audits and penetration testing.
• Responding to incidents promptly, and escalate to the executive quickly
• Participate in incident response and forensic analysis.
  

Necessarily Skills

• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Proven experience with AWS in production environments
• Experience in designing new CI/CD pipelines and out automations.
• Ability to understand existing pipelines, diagnose bottlenecks and suggest improvements.
• Ability to manage containerised applications using Docker and Amazon ECS.
• Oversee code deployments, database migrations, infrastructure upgrades and patching.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git, and collaboration tools like Github or Bitbucket.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Shell.
• Understanding of security best practices, e.g. correct management of PII, network security, threat mitigation.
• Proactive approach to tasks
• Ability to stay up-to-date with current best practices

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Javascript and PHP.
• Familiarity with databases, especially MySQL.
