About the role:
As a Senior Database Developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing backend data processing that support our cloud-based applications and services. On a day-to-day basis, you will own best practice for data management and data engineering - providing support to other members of the team and raising awareness across the organization for data issues and solutions. You will work closely with front-end and infrastructure teams to ensure our data store strategy meets the needs of our business and is scalable, secure, and highly available. When contributing towards projects, you'll make effective long-term design solutions and take an active part in sprint reviews and other agile processes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Build custom databases and back-end processes that meet specific customer needs
• Writing high-quality code while following best practices
• Testing, debugging, and deploying databases, data pipelines, and back-end functions
• Collaborating with development team and stakeholders to identify end-user requirements and specifications
• Developing technical documentation to support databases and back-end solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Tech skills AWS tools, DynamoDb, Aurora, SQS, Lambda, Glue, Datapipe, etc with strong Python scripting skills.
• Expertise in relational databases, key-value datastores, and document stores.
• Experience with Data Warehouse concepts (ETL/ELT) and implementation to provide reporting solutions for the organization.
• Experience with data pipeline using Kafka messaging, Apache Spark, DMS, SQS, Glue, S3.
• Experience in developing, testing, and documenting reliable, scalable, and secure APIs.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in back-end data engineering (server-side scripting, data pipeline and API development), in an enterprise environment
