About the role
The Sourcing Specialist will manage and optimize the procurement of goods and services not directly related to the company's main products. This role involves overseeing spending between $200,000 and $2,000,000 across various categories such as IT services, office supplies, travel services, exploration support, HR benefits, fleet asset management, MMUs, MRO, PPE, and professional services. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with procurement processes and improve P2P procedures to meet growing demand.
What you will be doing
- Category Management: Oversee procurement activities across multiple indirect spend categories including Corporate Services, Utilities and Energy, Travel and Accommodation, Health and Safety, Fleet, Equipment, Assets, and MRO.
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best value, quality, and service.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Data Analysis: Analyze spend data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure procurement strategies align with business objectives.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on indirect sourcing
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, including SAP and Ariba.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is preferred but not required.
- Experience in the mining or industrial sector.
- Willing to work on a night shift schedule.
