Job Description
This role is responsible for automation development for infrastructure services.
Duties & Responsibilities
- This role is responsible for automation development for infrastructure services.
- Work closely with ITS O&M to gather requirements for configuration or enhancement of automation workflows / work packages on the infra.
- Develop, configure and administer IT automation solution tools like RPA, Ansible.
- Understand and provide technical support to IT Ops around the solution usage.
- Analyze functional requirements and recommend possible automation solutions.
- Attend Operational reporting review
- Attend team meetings, huddles, DSU, trainings, and KT sessions
Work Experience
- Working knowledge of Python, Perl and Bash strongly preferred, familiar with C and C++
- Ability to work and coordinate between multiple engineering teams
- Ability to multitask and grasp new technologies quickly
- Hands on experience working with low level network infrastructure
- Knowledge of security standards.
- Solid understanding of automation or software development using tools like RPA, Ansible.
- Strong experience in Ansible
- Experience in Python, PL/SQL, Powershell, Bash
- Ability to adapt to changing and dynamic environment
- Passionate about open source technology
- Desire for constant learning
- Level 3 – Solid: 5-7 years of work experience in the desired / closely related area(s)

- Information security: Develops and communicates corporate information security policy, standards and guidelines. Contributes to the development of organizational strategies that address information control requirements. Identifies and monitors environmental and market trends and pro-actively assesses impact on business strategies, benefits and risks. Leads the provision of authoritative advice and guidance on the requirements for security controls in collaboration with experts in other functions such as legal, technical support. Ensures architectural principles are applied during design to reduce risk and drives adoption and adherence to policy, standards and guidelines.
- Continuity management: Implements and contributes to the development of a continuity management plan. Coordinates the assessment of risks to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of systems that support critical business processes. Coordinates the planning, designing, and testing of maintenance procedures and contingency plans.
- Testing: Accepts responsibility for creation of test cases using own in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability and portability). Creates traceability records, from test cases back to requirements. Produces test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services. Specifies requirements for environment, data, resources and tools. Interprets, executes and documents complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards. Records and analyses actions and results and maintains a defect register. Reviews test results and modifies tests if necessary. Provides reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with the overall project. Reports on system quality and collects metrics on test cases. Provides specialist advice to support others.
- Systems integration and build: Identifies, evaluates and manages the adoption of appropriate tools, techniques and processes (including automation and continuous integration) to create a robust integration framework. Leads integration work in line with the agreed system and service design. Monitors and reports on the results of each integration and build. Designs and builds integration components and interfaces. Contributes to the overall design of the service and the definition of criteria for product and component selection. Contributes to development of systems integration policies, standards and tools.
- Service acceptance: Engages with technical design and project managers or Project Management Office, to ensure correct products are produced, in a timely fashion. Evaluates the quality of project outputs against agreed service acceptance criteria.
- Configuration management: Agrees scope of configuration management processes and the configuration items (CIs) and related information to be controlled. Identifies, evaluates and manages the adoption of appropriate tools, techniques and processes (including automation) for configuration management to ensure information is complete, current and accurate. Plans the capture and management of CIs and related information. Contributes to development of configuration management strategies, policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Release and deployment: Leads the assessment, analysis, planning and design of release packages, including assessment of risk. Liaises with business and IT partners on release scheduling and communication of progress. Conducts post release reviews. Ensures release processes and procedures are applied and that releases can be rolled back as needed. Identifies, evaluates and manages the adoption of appropriate release and deployment tools, techniques and processes (including automation).
