Social Strategist - Sports

• Build a good relationship with clients, and open up Varsity to more projects under them. 

• Attend meetings, events, and any relevant in-person interactions for client-servicing and production alignment.

• Work in tandem with Strategy Director, Associate Strategy Director, Social and Brand Strategists in guiding and delegating work to Assistant Social Strategists, Copywriters, and Community Managers for brainstorms, pitch formations, client work, community management, and creative work.

Social Media & Digital Planning and Creation

• Create a cohesive tone across all social media channels under the Varsity umbrella and clients, in tandem with editorial, project, and product teams

• Brainstorm, pitch, create, produce, and execute social media strategy and content across all mediums, for all channels under the Varsity umbrella, including the company’s own, for the approval of editorial, project, and product teams.

• Spearhead insighting and creation of reports based on all digital channels under the Varsity umbrella and clients as needed

• Track and benchmark growth on all social media channels under the Varsity umbrella against past history and industry practices and standards via reports and insight-sharing sessions

• Work with Accounts, Strategy, and Creative project teams to turn insights into actionable ideas for all channels under the Varsity umbrella and clients

• Manage social media budget and execute, as per coordination of editorial, project, and product teams; document all fees and expenses, and coordinate with Varsity’s accounts for monthly payments with Operations and Finance departments.

• Coordinate with Strategy and Creative Directors to manage creative pool resources to assist on all social channels

• Report progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of experience in any sports-related brand.
• Collaborates with internal and external partners to make social content compelling for both fans and advertisers.
• Manages posting across multiple social media accounts & platforms during live sports window
• Proficient in social listening, social media data analytics, and social reporting tools (Sprinklr, Sprout, Hootsuite, Meltwater, etc).
• With exceptional understanding and innate interest in basketball, especially the NBA and WNBA. In-depth knowledge of other sports and its personalities is a plus. 
• Must be flexible and able to work with clients and stakeholders in different time zones.
