Royal Caribbean Group’s Human Resources – Talent Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Shipboard L&D Implementor reporting to the Sr Manager, Marine Shipboard L&D .

The Shipboard L&D Implementor is a key member of the Talent team sitting within the Shipboard L&D area. It is responsible for supporting the implementation plans for learning and development initiatives across ships. Predominantly focused on Marine, they will be designing implementation plans for deployment and follow up of learning programs, Through surveys, focus groups and feedback tools, they will track, analyse and provide valuable insights on the effectiveness of the learning programs onboard.

They will play a key role in the management and ownership of the training matrix, ensuring alignment, updates and partnership with stakeholders and members of the Talent team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Learning Programs/Talent Initiatives Implementation – 50%

Implementation Planning

  • Design and create implementation for L&D programs for fleetwide.
  • Closely collaborate with L+D colleagues, SMEs, Talent team members throughout the planning, communication and deployment to ensure smooth execution.
  • Partner with the crew communications team to assist with the comms strategy, ensuring that the Shipboard L&D team are informed and involved where applicable.
  • Support the Sr Manager with SME/stakeholder awareness and alignment.

Learning Effectiveness

  • Support the Shipboard L&D team with content review of trainings; to ensure high standards and quality is maintained of learning programs for the business.
  • Gather feedback through focus groups, interviews and surveys to review effectiveness of learning programs/talent initiatives.
  • Be able to communicate opportunities for changes/improvements to the talent team, stakeholders effectively.
  • Partner with the Talent team members to ensure accurate reporting of metrics and KPIs.

Training Matrix

  • Manage and maintain the training matrix, ensuring accuracy and visibility.
  • Partner closely with Shipboard L&D team and RCLU team to ensure all updates are made in the system and policies.
  • Regularly review and identify for potential opportunities for RCG alignment, course updates for consistency.

Project Work & Team Support

  • Ensure the in-take tasks are assigned and the projects are updated to reflect incoming work that is assigned.
  • Partner with the Sr Manager to ensure updates are accurately maintained in a timely manner.
  • Support with the execution of projects, working closely with other Talent team members wider than the Shipboard L&D team.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings, providing insights on key projects, metrics and feedback where applicable.
  • Be able to produce presentations and meeting notes as and when required.

Learning Experience Design and Development – 50%

Content Creation

  • Design and develop innovative, educational and interactive learning—instructor-led, eLearning, micro-learning, experiential learning activities, etc.—for enterprise and brand specific content.
  • Define course requirements, learning objectives, and recommend any multimedia assets—graphic design, videos, etc.—to strengthen the acquisition of knowledge and its on-the-job application.
  • Design engaging content and digital assets using a variety of formats including video, text, infographics, interactive media, case studies, and others, using best-in-class applications and tools.
  • Create design and development production schedules , to guide the end-to-end development of learning from storyboarding through production.
  • Establish metrics (leveraging stakeholder feedback) to evaluate the learning solution and client outcome achievement; metrics should be leveraged to recommend improvements.
  • Make design approach recommendations (e.g., build, buy and/or outsource), securing the necessary resources to gather the necessary content to meet or exceed the project needs.
  • Independently research internal and external sources to help validate and further inform content scope and design to achieve the expected outcome(s) with the client (as necessary).
  • Proactively assesses the potential to integrate AI technology and capability to further elevate the engagement and impact of the learning solution.
  • Integrate adult learning principles in all learning experience design and development , with instructional soundness while meeting the business outcome within the project parameters.
  • Perform quality assurance testing and proofreading of all assigned projects and establish a cadence for the updating of existing learning materials.
  • Responsible for end-to-end project management (e.g., triaging, scope definition, timing and identification of milestones and deliverables, feedback and review sessions) for assigned efforts.
  • Stay abreast of emerging multimedia and design trends, methodologies, etc. to guide the evolution of related tools and practices to continue optimizing the digital learning experience.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Partnership

  • Lead discovery sessions with internal stakeholders to further scope expectations, deliverables, and outcomes to guide the recommendation of the right approach and experience to design.
  • Ensure stakeholders are regularly informed and engaged throughout the design and development process.
  • Guide stakeholders with innovative learning and design trends, based on industry best practices.
  • Partner with Talent team members to ensure the design and development of learning experiences closely align with the global talent strategy and related initiatives.
  • Responsible for sourcing external vendors as appropriate and presenting a recommendation with final proposals and contracts for feedback, alignment and approval to the Talent leadership team.
  • Anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, considering the varying points of view while staying focused on creating the most effective learning experience for the audience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university focusing on adult learning, enterprise learning, human resource development or another related field.
  • Work experience within the talent and/or learning and development environment.
  • Work experience within the cruise industry, preferable.
  • Instructional design experience and certifications, desirable.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Ability to identify potential opportunities for improvement of learning programs and communicate these insights effectively.
  • Experience designing implementation plans for learning programs and skill-based frameworks, performance management, career development and succession planning processes across a globally diverse audience.
  • Experience of creating presentations and analysing key metrics to communicate to leaders and ‘tell the story’.
  • Hands-on experience of rolling out learning programs with minimal challenges,
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and partner with SMEs.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work across multiple projects.
