Senior Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Contract Duties:
a. Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies.
b. Manage and review bills of quantities, tender documents, and procurement strategies.
c. Support risk analysis and value engineering exercises.
2. Contract Management:
a. Administer contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, or local forms).
b. Evaluate and negotiate tenders and subcontractor agreements.
c. Monitor contract compliance and change management.
3. Cost Control and Reporting:
a. Track budget vs actual costs, provide cost forecasts, and mitigate variances.
b. Approve and certify interim payments, variations, and claims.
c. Provide monthly cost reports and financial dashboards to stakeholders.
4. Team Leadership and Coordination:
a. Mentor and supervise junior QS staff.
b. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams.
c. Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants professionally.
5. Post-Contract Duties:
a. Prepare and negotiate final accounts.
b. Support audits and project close-out reporting.
c. Document lessons learned and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
2. Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CIArb, ICE, or local equivalent) preferred.
3. Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead QS role.
4. Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract and cost management software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Excel).
