Atlassian is looking for a passionate Payroll Accountant to join our Global Payroll Team. You are a good fit for this role if you have excellent communication skills, are creative, detail-oriented, and have a customer-focused mindset.

This is a remote position. To facilitate effective collaboration among our teams, this role requires you to be based in Manila, Philippines, and available to work during US business hours.

Responsibilities

What you'll do

• Take ownership of global payroll related month-end activities including journal entries, accruals, estimates, and reconciliations
• Perform variance and flux analysis on employee expenses, benefits costs, and various payroll balance sheet accounts
• Assist in audits by preparing PBC schedules, compiling supporting documentation, and offering detailed insights into payroll processes to facilitate both internal and external audits
• Collaborate with Payroll Operations, FP&A, Tax, Legal, HR and other cross-functional teams to gather data, improve processes, and support business needs
• Participate in projects and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements or new implementations
• Identify process improvement, automation opportunities and implement solutions to help improve efficiency and reduce risk
  
  
  

Qualifications

Your background

• 5+ years of experience in Payroll accounting, GL accounting, or a related area. Global Payroll Accounting experience is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency in large ERP system (Oracle Fusion, Workday)
• Advanced Excel skills with experience in data analysis
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and challenging the status quo
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities
• Must be comfortable working with a remote manager and global team
