Our client is seeking a strategic Senior E-Commerce Manager to take full ownership of their global online stores, driving customer engagement aligned with branding, marketing campaigns, and promotions. This non-technical yet high-impact role focuses on optimising digital performance across e-commerce and in-store eye test bookings. You will manage product catalogue accuracy, website performance, booking funnel optimisation, and customer experience across all digital touchpoints, working cross-functionally with development, marketing, and merchandising teams.

About The Role
Our client is seeking a strategic Senior E-Commerce Manager to take full ownership of their global online stores, driving customer engagement aligned with branding, marketing campaigns, and promotions. You will manage product catalogue accuracy, website performance, booking funnel optimisation, and customer experience across all digital touchpoints, working cross-functionally with development, marketing, and merchandising teams.
Responsibilities:
Online Booking Process Ownership
- Own and optimise the website’s performance across e-commerce sales and in-store eye test bookings in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
- Oversee the entire online booking journey from product selection to final confirmation ensuring a seamless, conversion-optimised flow.
- Improve key website metrics such as conversion rate, bounce rate, and booking funnel efficiency, with a strong emphasis on driving eye test appointments.
- Use GA4 and Looker to analyse site performance and uncover optimisation opportunities.
- Provide regular trade and performance reports to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Customer Data Scientist to surface insights that shape strategic e-commerce decisions.
- Present findings from web analytics and user research to inform ongoing digital improvements.
- Continuously assess UX and identify areas for improvement using A/B testing, feedback loops, and performance metrics.
- Partner with developers to execute front-end improvements and optimise conversion across devices.
- Ensure smooth navigation, performance, and functionality across all global sites.
- Maintain accurate product setup and integrity across Plytix, Shopify, and Commercetools including PDP content, metadata, photography, and 3D VTO assets.
- Manage automated e-commerce emails (e.g. abandoned cart, promos) to support conversion and retention.
- Define enhancement plans and write detailed scoping requirements for the development team.
- Manage product categories, discoverability, and merchandising logic to support sales growth.
- Ensure product availability and timely restocking, in collaboration with the merchandising team.
- Continuously improve UX across global sites by streamlining navigation and reducing friction in the customer journey.
- Leverage product reviews and social proof to enhance product pages and build trust.
- Interpret SEO agency recommendations and lead implementation of on-page SEO best practices.
- Collaborate with marketing and content teams to align site SEO efforts with broader content initiatives.
- Drive organic traffic growth through structured product and content optimisation.
- Partner with marketing to align digital campaigns with in-store and omnichannel promotions.
- Work cross-functionally with design, digital, and development teams to execute coordinated campaigns and site updates.
- Act as the single point of ownership for website performance, replacing fragmented responsibilities across departments.
- At least 5 years of experience in e-commerce, with a strong background in product management and web optimisation.
- Proven track record in improving website conversion rates (CRO), implementing SEO strategies, and using analytics tools (GA4, Looker) to drive decisions.
- Hands-on experience with Prismic CMS, Shopify, and Commercetools (or similar platforms). Experience understanding the basics of React, Tailwind, Javascript will be highly preferred, though not essential.
- Familiar with front-end code/development.
- Proven ability to optimise websites for conversion, user experience, and SEO.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive decisions and improvements.
- Knowledge of UX best practices, A/B testing, and web optimisation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and project management skills.
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the Australian market and consumer behaviour.
- Background in digital agencies or fast-paced in-house environments preferred.
- Someone who fits seamlessly with the client's values: tight-knit, down-to-earth, and focused on continuous improvement.
